One of the most frequent questions I am asked as the owner of a glamping site and holiday accommodation is, "Where is a good place to visit?" I wrack my brains and consider it carefully and usually come up with the same one or two places that I like the best, but everyone is different and have varying interests. Guests also come in various ages, sizes and shapes so there is no 'one size fits all'. Because of this, I have produced this book that is a comprehensive, but not exclusive list of places of interest in the local and not so local vicinity.
These places have been chosen purely on my personal experience or in the odd case, I've looked them up and just thought they looked good. I am sure there are equally worthy places to visit that are not included and I'm equally sure some one will tell me so...
An anecdotal retelling of the life of an ex-teacher who has chosen to live amongst the animals in her care on her farm in North Yorkshire. Life is never straight forward or easy when animals and children are involved. Couple that with a husband who is a born and bred Yorkshire farmer, then it is bound to get more complicated. Follow the highs and lows of Tricia Phillips' life as she survives day to day on her journey out of the classroom into the world of setting up a glamping business and farming a small farm in the White Rose country around Thirsk in North Yorkshire.
This is a short compilation of blogs written through the summer of 2017, detailing what farming and living in rural North Yorkshire is like. Inspired by the work of James Herriot, the anecdotal tales are a mix of humour and pathos, with a touch of reality thrown in for good measure.

I cannot wait for book number 2!
This is a light hearted read which is written with love and humour. It's a very honest account of what it is like to share your life, and in some instances your home, with animals who do not understand or follow house rules. It is sad in places but you sense that none of the animals are ever truly gone from morndyke. This is clearly written by someone who loves animals and the great outdoors, muck and all. I have really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to future installments.
Couldn't put this down and finished it far to quickly! Being a 'towny' I have very limited experience of life in the country let alone a farm and I loved Patricia's insight into every day life! Very funny and heart warming too. My only negative - too short! :-)
A great read - a funny and witty view of life on the farm ! I can’t wait to visit this spring!
Really good read. So funny but so realistic. Definitely recommend and now I want to visit.
